Michael Jones and producer Sheri Maines reflect on four years of Fly Line Podcast storytelling, sharing memorable guests, favorite moments, and the passion that inspired their journey through Maine’s fishing community.What began during COVID as a simple idea to preserve the stories connected to Maine fishing has grown into 48 episodes featuring guides, writers, conservationists, artists, and storytellers from across the state and beyond. Along the way, the podcast has become a place where guests can share not only what they’ve done but also the experiences, relationships, and moments that have shaped their lives on and around the water.
In this episode, we look back on how the podcast evolved over four seasons, what we’ve learned from recording these conversations, and why storytelling has remained at the center of the show from the very beginning.
We also get a glimpse into Sheri’s early years of fishing, along with the story of how Sheri and I first met and eventually came together to build the podcast.
