About the Host, Michael Jones

Michael Jones is a 2nd Generation Master Maine Guide with a deep passion for Maine’s fishing traditions and the people who keep them alive. Growing up in Mount Vernon, Maine, he developed an early appreciation for the waters and wild places that define our state. Over the years, he has explored Maine’s outdoors through kayaking, white water rafting, photography, skiing, hiking, hunting, and fly fishing.
With more than 30 years of guiding experience, Michael offers guided trips on the Androscoggin and Kennebec Rivers, specializing in drift boat and jet boat trips, as well as fly casting lessons for new anglers or those looking to refine their skills.
As the host of the Fly Line Podcast, Michael brings that same enthusiasm to each episode, exploring the stories of guides, conservationists, and anglers shaping Maine’s fly fishing community. His ability to connect with guests—whether lifelong friends or new voices in the industry—creates conversations that are insightful, engaging, and deeply rooted in Maine’s outdoor heritage.
